Ex-soldiers in E Timor riot

DILI: Former soldiers brought chaos to the streets of the East Timorese capital yesterday, throwing rocks and breaking windows in protest against their dismissal from the military after a row over working conditions.
East Timor police chief Paulo de Fatima Martins said five people were arrested after the riots. Those involved in the rampage included a group of almost 600 soldiers who were sacked earlier this month.
